Learn How it Works...
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup hot water
1/3 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
STEP 1
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Add hot water and butter; stir until shaggy dough begins to form.
STEP 2
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 1-2 minutes or until it is fairly smooth. Shape dough into ball; pat to form evenly-thick disk. Cover with clean kitchen towel; let dough rest 10 minutes.
STEP 3
Use knife to cut dough into 12 equal wedges; roll each wedge into ball. Use rolling pin to roll dough ball into 6-inch tortilla.
STEP 4
Heat cast iron or heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Add tortilla; cook 1 minute or until tiny bubbles begin to appear on surface and golden spots appear on bottom of tortilla. Flip; cook on second side 30 seconds or until bottom is slightly golden.
STEP 5
Transfer tortilla to plate; cover with clean dish towel. Set aside. Repeat with remaining dough balls.
STEP 6
Serve tortillas warm.
To keep tortillas warm and prevent them from drying out, cover with a dish towel or store in tortilla warmer until serving.
