Beer Cheese Pretzel Dog

1/2 cup bock beer

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper

1/8 teaspoon pepper

8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American, cut into quarters


6 premium hot dogs

6 pretzel buns, sliced horizontally halfway through


Popped popcorn, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine beer, mustard, butter, red pepper and pepper in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring with whisk, until mixture just comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; add cheese. Continue cooking until cheese is melted and smooth. Keep warm.

  3. STEP 3

    Place hot dogs onto grill. Grill, turning occasionally, 5-9 minutes or until heated through and grill marks show.

  4. STEP 4

    Place hot dogs into pretzel buns; top each with 2 tablespoons cheese sauce. Sprinkle with popcorn, if desired. Serve with remaining cheese sauce for dipping.
