Chocolate Cherry Bonbons

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted, cooled

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup coarsely chopped maraschino cherries, patted dry

30 milk chocolate candy pieces with soft chocolate centers, unwrapped


1/2 cup white baking chips

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy. Add melted chocolate and egg; continue beating at medium speed until well mixed. Add flour and baking soda; beat at low speed until well mixed. Stir in cherries.

  3. STEP 3

    Shape dough into 1-inch balls; form 1 ball around 1 candy piece to cover completely. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.

  4. STEP 4

    Bake 10-12 minutes or just until set. Remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.

  5. STEP 5

    Place baking chips and oil into bowl. Microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, 60-90 seconds or until melted.

  6. STEP 6

    Spoon into resealable plastic food bag; cut off 1 very small corner of bag. Pipe drizzle onto cookies.

Tip #1

Keep cookies stored in tightly covered containers. The cherries will keep the cookies soft for several days.
