Green Chile Burgers

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 pound lean ground beef

1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chiles

1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American


Jalapeño chiles



Sour cream

Tomato slices

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine onion, ground beef, chiles, hot pepper sauce and salt in bowl; mix lightly. Shape into 4 (4-inch) patties.

  3. STEP 3

    Place patties onto grill. Grill, turning once, 15-18 minutes or until desired doneness.

  4. STEP 4

    Place burgers onto serving plate; top with cheese slices. Serve with desired toppings.

Broiling Directions: Heat broiler. Prepare patties as directed above. Place patties onto ungreased broiler pan. Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat, turning once, 15-20 minutes or until desired doneness. Serve as directed above.
