Rich fudgy chocolate kiss cookies are filled with tart dried cherry bits and topped with a cherry cordial kiss. What could be better?

3 (1-ounce) squares
unsweetened baking chocolate
3 tablespoons
Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 1/2 cups
1 1/2 cups
all-purpose flour
large Land O Lakes® Eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons
baking powder
1/3 cup
dried cherries, chopped
1/3 cup
1 (11-ounce) bag (60)
cherry cordial crème chocolate kisses*, unwrapped
*Substitute your favorite variety of chocolate kiss-shaped candy.


  1. Heat oven to 300°F.
  2. Place unsweetened chocolate in bowl. Microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, 1-1 1/2 minutes or until melted. Add butter; stir until butter is melted. Cool 10 minutes.
  3. Combine melted chocolate mixture, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3/4 cup flour, eggs and baking powder in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Add remaining 3/4 cup flour and dried cherries; beat at low speed just until well mixed.
  4. Place 1/3 cup sugar in another bowl. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until top is cracked and set.
  5. Press 1 cherry chocolate kiss immediately into each cookie. Remove to cooling rack. Cool completely or about 1 hour until chocolate is set. Store between sheets of waxed paper in container with tight-fitting lid for up to 5 days.

Recipe Tips

- The cookie dough may also be rolled in powdered sugar for a frosty white crinkled effect.

- Increase chopped dried cherries to 1/2 cup for extra cherry flavor.

Big hit with everyone that tried them. I got requests for these from almost everyone that tried them.


I made these cookies for my husband's work Christmas party and everyone loved them and asked for the recipe. They tasted just like chocolate covered cherries and were a very simple cookie to make. I will be making them for my Cookie Exchange.


They are very good. Took them to a cookie exchange last year everyone loved them. Wanted to make them again this year, but could not find my recipe from last year. Was glad when I found it on this website.


I really liked these, by the way double the cherries is not better

I first made these for my church's Secret Sister Christmas party. They were a hit! I had several requests to either make them again or to share the recipe. They're great!


These are really good, but when I make them again I'll roll them in powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar. I think they would be better that way. Otherwise, great cookie!


These are very good. I rolled them in powdered sugar, for a nice effect. After I put the kiss on, I put them back in the oven for 30 sec - 1 minute just to soften them and set them in the cookie a little bit. If you do this, KEEP AN EYE ON THEM! These are very moist and fudgy. Yum!


The recipe as shown isn't of a consistency to allow for rolling in balls as instructed. I added a half cup more flour and even with that the dough was too sticky for rolling. I was able to put globs into sugar for the frosted effect and it worked. The cookies are delicious but I wonder if the 1 1/2 cups of flour was an error or if I did something wrong.


Wow! Awesome combination, this is a tasty cookie and so simple to make. I will be making another batch for a cookie swap, they're that good!


These cookies are great. They seemed to be a little dry when rolling but they baked perfectly and are a great addition to our cookie giveaways this year! I rolled them in the powered sugar. YUMMY
