Mac & Cheese
6 ounces (2 1/2 cups) uncooked dried fusilli (corkscrew) pasta
3/4 pound sliced Land O Lakes® Deli American, cut into quarters
2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
2 cups thinly sliced onion
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Set aside; keep warm.
Melt butter in deep 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until sizzling; add onion and sugar. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium; cook 15-16 minutes or until onions are browned and caramelized.
Stir in milk and cheese. Cook, stirring constantly, 3-4 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is creamy. Add cooked pasta; mix well. Continue cooking 1-2 minutes or until heated through.
Combine all topping ingredients in bowl. Spoon topping over pasta and cheese mixture; serve immediately.
This recipe can be doubled if you're serving a crowd.
