Oatmeal Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

2 cups firmly packed brown sugar1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
2 cups uncooked quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats

2 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking powder
1
2 teaspoon salt1 cup candy-coated milk chocolate pieces
*Substitute raisins, cut-up gumdrops, chopped nuts, chocolate, butterscotch or white chocolate chips.
How to make

STEP 1
Heat oven to 375°F.

Combine brown sugar, butter and egg in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add all remaining cookie ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed. Stir in chocolate pieces.

Drop dough by tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 10-14 minutes or until light golden brown on edges. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.

- Stir 2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest into dough, if desired.
