Cheesy Italian Hot Dog

1 (16-ounce) jar (about 1 1/2 cups) giardiniera, drained, coarsely chopped

3 tablespoons Italian dressing

6 hot dog buns

12 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Italian Blend

6 premium hot dogs

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. Place coals to 1 side in charcoal grill.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine giardiniera and Italian dressing in small bowl. Set aside.

  3. STEP 3

    Open buns; place cut-sides down onto grill. Grill 1-2 minutes or until toasted. Turn buns over; immediately add 2 slices cheese to each bun. Place opposite heat on grill; keep warm.

  4. STEP 4

    Place hot dogs onto grill. Grill, turning occasionally, 5-9 minutes or until heated through.

  5. STEP 5

    Place grilled hot dogs into buns; top each with 1/4 cup giardiniera mixture. Serve immediately.

Tip #1

Giardiniera is a combination of assorted pickled vegetables and can be found in jars in the condiments section of the supermarket.
