Here are four new cupcake ideas that don’t take all day to decorate and will be a hit with your gremlins and princesses.

Spider Webs

What you’ll need:

Put melted white chocolate chips in a resealable plastic food bag and snip the corner. Trace a spider web on a piece of parchment paper. Flip the parchment paper over and place on a cookie sheet. Going slowly, pipe frosting in the pattern of the web. Put the cookie sheet in the fridge about 30 minutes or until set. Gently remove the webs with a metal spatula, then place them on your chocolate frosted cupcakes. You may have to get creative when it comes to the spiders. I found some spider rings at a craft store, and simply cut off the spiders.

Frankenstein

What you’ll need:

Start by “painting” the marshmallows green with the green tinted white chocolate. We find that using a small pastry brush works best. Paint the sides, allow them to set, then paint the top–that way you always have something to hold on to. Use the black frosting to create the face, hair and bolts. Stick small pieces of black licorice into the bolts and allow to set. Place your finished Frankensteins on orange frosted cupcakes.

Bubbling Cauldrons

What you’ll need:

  • Chocolate mini cupcakes (Skip the frosting in the linked recipe, or use another favorite chocolate mini cupcake recipe.)
  • Vanilla buttercream frosting (colored green)
  • Cotton candy (available at grocery stores in the candy aisle or Halloween section)
  • Black rope licorice

Pipe green frosting on each cupcake using a star tip–the messier the better so your cauldron looks like it’s bubbling over! Top with a little bit of cotton candy and a piece of licorice for a handle.

Ghosts

What you’ll need:

Frost the cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Pipe vanilla buttercream on the cupcakes in a cone shape (see photo above). Use chocolate sprinkles for eyes and mouth. Use tweezers to place the sprinkles.
